Since You've Been Gone

Since You've Been Gone - Morgan Matson

Quite and reserved Emily is best friends with the very outgoing Sloane. The 2 best friends plan to have the best summer together when all of a sudden Sloane disappears. Emily expects Sloane to come back within a week or so but when she does not she receives a letter from her. The letter Emily receives from Sloane contains a list of 13 things to do that are way out of Emily's comfort zone.. From kissing a stranger to going skinning dipping Emily embarks on a crazy adventure discovering more about herself and finding a little bit of romance along the way in hope that it'll lead her to finding her friend.

Since You've Been Gone was the kind of slow build up book where it comes to a certain point that you realize you haven't moved in hours and you are devouring the book. It had a slower start for me, but once Emily started taking on the challenges the Sloane had left her, I was desperate to find out more. I had all of these theories of where Sloane might have gone or who she was.. That ending being totally wrong. I did end up liking it and I do not regret reading it. It was a fantastic story about a love and loss and self discovery.

We saw a lot of character development in the book as well. not only with Emily but also frank and Collins who you start to see more as a person and less as a jokester throughout the book.

Although the book was slow building and had quite a few parts where I was bored since you've been gone had a great message about taking chances and growing as a person and I did enjoy it overall and I would give it 4 stars.

The Selection

The Selection - Kiera Cass

I loved and enjoyed this book so much!!

As everyone says The Selection is very much like the bachelor and because of that people think it is not unique and is lacking creativity but I believe that this is a very different subject and there are not a lot of books like this which made me enjoy it more. This book kept me turning pages through the night, keeping me on the edge of my seat and really making me feel like i was apart of the book.

I really like the characters as well.. I've heard many people complain about America's character being annoying but i felt like I really connected with her and her feelings towards her family and the Selection itself. All i can say is that the ending keeps you yearning for more.

I highly recommend this book to those who are a little skeptical about reading it because I was the same way before I picked it up and now I can't wait to continue on with the series! Overall super great book!

The One

The One - Kiera Cass May I say that this book literally left me in tears at the end. I have so little words to describe my emotions right now. This trilogy was just so good it was such a light and quick dystopian read. It was such a great conclusion to the trilogy. Out of all 3 books this one was my favorite so for those who are reading this trilogy, IT GETS BETTER. And for those who have not read this trilogy I do recommend that you do. (:

Hush, Hush

Hush, Hush - Becca Fitzpatrick oh my goodness literally was left speechless when I finished this book. it was sososo good! I loved how action packed it was. I don't even think there was anything about it that I can say I didn't like. It was mysterious, gripping, jaw dropping with some romance to top it off. The characters were great AND THE PLOT TWISTS HOLY. CANT EVEN EXPLAIN. there was not a part in this book where I was bored and I loved that about it. It was very different than what I usually read and I was still very pleased. It was so fast paced and if I were to describe this book in one word it would definitely be badass. I gave this book 5 stars because I can't name anything that could have made it better. This definitely made it to my top 5 favorite books. Can't wait to continue on with the series.(:

Shatter Me

Shatter Me - Tahereh Mafi Just like everyone else i was a little skeptical about reading this book because i heard both good and bad things about it. But i eventually picked it up and read it. And i LOVED THIS BOOK. The writing was very poetic and it was beautifully written. The main character, Juliette has been locked up in a sort of asylum for more than 200 days because her touch is lethal. I really loved the story behind Juliette and i loved the details the author put into Juliette's feelings. Just reading her talk about herself and her feelings intrigued me so much. I loved the ending and the direction the book turned. I love the romance between Juliette and Adam that starts to bloom. I'm definitely excited for the next books and to find out more about Warner. Tahereh Mafi is an amazing writer and i can't wait to read more of her work.

The Dead and the Gone

The Dead and the Gone - Susan Beth Pfeffer

The Dead and The Gone is a post apocalyptic book that follows a teenage boy that tries to take care of his siblings as the world around him is crumbling to pieces.

This book makes you look at life a while different way and really makes you think about the things you have and how life would be without them. You also realize the lengths people will go to during hard times just to provide for the people they love. It was a little slow paced at first but turned out to be an overall good book.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - Ransom Riggs

Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children was great and an overall fantastic read. I'm so glad I picked it up when I did and took the time to read it. Ransom Riggs did a wonderful job at creating a thrilling adventure with suspense at every turn. It was even a little creepy which made me enjoy it even more.

The characters were so unique and i love how you got to know each and every one of the as the book progressed. The suspense and thrill had me reading for hours straight.

I highly recommend this book if you're in for a  fast paced, thrilling/suspenseful paranormal adventure.
